Wanna hear a funny story? Apple Inc. had to recall 9 million iPhones that had been shipped out to phone stores, simply because they forgot to include 'Phone' feature. They were too busy focusing on 'non-phonal' features that they completely forgot to include a phone. What kind of phone does not support any calls? Apple messed up big time!
"While Mr. Jobs said that almost all of the nine million iPhones that
had been shipped to stores were on their way back to Apple's
manufacturing plant, he offered advice to consumers who somehow had
already obtained the phoneless iPhone: "Just hold it up to your head
and pretend to be talking into it."
That's a funny statement. It's like telling the consumers to go ahead and make a complete fool out of themselves to compensate for the stupidity in purchasing the iPhone.
It's funny how we were always taught in elementary school that Pluto, which was discovered in 1930, is one of the planets in our solar system, but guess what? Pluto has been demoted. The new guideline that defines a planet has downsized our solar system from nine planets to eight.
Remember the Disney character-- Pluto? He was named after the planet Pluto on the same year that the planet was introduced. What are they going to do about his name now that the 'planet' Pluto does not hold the same significance? Maybe his name will be changing too.... hehe j/k.
Correction: Lillian just clarifies things with me. Being named the "New Ivy" does not implies that it's an Ivy League. It's not that simple.
RPI and Vanderbilt was named as one of the "25 New Ivies". This means that two members of my family (me and my sis) are attending Ivy League Colleges. Yey!
Rensselaer Named One of America’s “New Ivies” by Kaplan/Newsweek College Guide
Kaplan and Newsweek recently announced that Rensselaer has been named to the elite “New Ivies” list, published in the 2007 Kaplan/Newsweek “How to Get into College Guide.” This year’s Kaplan/Newsweek guide introduces for the first time the “New Ivies”: colleges whose first-rate academic programs, combined with a population boom in top students, have fueled their rise in stature and favor among the nation’s top students, administrators, and faculty — edging them to a competitive status rivaling the Ivy League. Rensselaer was one of 25 schools selected as a “New Ivy,” based on admissions statistics as well as interviews with administrators, students, faculty, and alumni.
